Die Berliner Gender Performance Legende Bridge Markland erzählt aus ihrem Leben – wir hören u.a. Anekdoten wie Verkleidungsexperimente Anfang der 90er Jahre in Berlin und New York zur Entstehung von Bridges bekanntester Gender Performance Die schönste Frau der Welt führten.
Die Berliner Performerin Bridge Markland ist eine Virtuosin des Rollenspiels und der Verwandlung. Eine Künstlerin, die zwischen Tanz, Theater, Performance, Cabaret und Puppen-Performance mit Leichtigkeit alle Grenzen überschreitet. Ihre besondere Spezialität sind Gender-Performances, bei denen das Publikum den Wechsel von Frau zu Mann (oder Vice Versa) live miterlebt. Sie ist Pionierin der Drag und Genderperformance in Deutschland und organisierte Drag-King Events, Tourneen und Festivals von 1994-2002.
Gemeinsam mit Diane Torr kuratierte sie 2002 in Berlin das erste „go drag! Festival „Women celebrate cross dressing“.
20 Jahre später kuratiert sie 2022 mit Nancy Lund + Olive Baldwin in Berlin das zweite internationale go drag! festival celebrating women, trans, non-binary artists.

Berlin gender performance legend Bridge Markland talks about her life – we hear anecdotes including how experiments in disguise in Berlin and New York in the early 1990s led to the creation of Bridge’s most famous gender performance The Most Beautiful Woman in the World.
Berlin performer Bridge Markland is a virtuoso of role play and transformation. An artist who easily crosses all boundaries between dance, theatre, performance, cabaret and puppet performance.
Her particular speciality is gender performances in which the audience experiences the change from woman to man (or vice versa) live. She is a pioneer of drag and gender performance in Germany and organised drag king events, tours and festivals from 1994-2002.
Together with Diane Torr, she curated the first go drag! Festival „Women celebrate cross dressing“.
20 years later, in 2022, she curated the second international go drag! festival celebrating women, trans, non-binary artists.
